Milestones Oct 16, 2006: Gov. Schwarzenegger signs executive order to begin AB 32's implementation. Sep 27, 2006: Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signs AB 32 Aug 31, 2006: AB 32 passes the Assembly floor. Aug 30, 2006: AB 32 passes the Senate floor. Jun 26, 2006: Senate Committee on Environmental Quality approves AB 32 5 to 2. Apr 3, 2006: Speaker Nunez and Assembly member Pavley introduce AB 32 - California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 Jun 1, 2005: Governor Schwarzenegger signs Executive Order setting green house gas reduction targets for California. Apr 11, 2005: AB 32 passes out of the Assembly and is introduced in the Senate. Dec 6, 2004: AB 32 is introduced in the Assembly.	Objective Governor Schwarzennegger set greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets by executive order and created a Climate Action Team to come up with policies to meet those targets. AB 32 (Nunez and Pavley) puts the Governor's greenhouse gas reduction targets into law and directs the California Environmental Protection Agency and Air Resources Board to implement regulations for a cap on sources of GHG emissions. See E2C2 for more on AB 32 implementation. Current Status Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed AB 32 into law on September 27, 2006.
