The dedication of E2’s members and staff has led to many achievements over the years. Some of E2’s successes include: helping to pass the nation’s first bill to limit global warming emissions (California’s AB 32), advancing bills in New York and Massachusetts to improve freshwater and coastal water protection and management, and helping to shape a cooperative effort by Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic states to reduce carbon dioxide emission (Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative).

Completed Campaigns: E2 has worked closely with NRDC to successfully influence smart, forward-looking environmental policy. E2 Action Alerts are position statements designed to harness the influence of E2 members. We circulate an Action Alert to members by e-mail, compile signatures, and hand-deliver the statements to policymakers. Creating a single, powerful document signed by business leaders is effective – opinion leaders quote E2 statements directly, from state legislatures all the way to Capitol Hill. E2 Delegation Trips provide interested E2 members the opportunity to meet directly with public officials. A delegation of E2 members travels annually to Washington, DC, Sacramento, CA, and Albany, NY, to meet face-to-face with policymakers and present the business case for our legislative agenda.
