Scott Elliott is the Chief Executive Officer of MountainLogic, a Northwest-based triple bottom line company that helps homeowners reduce their energy use by heating and cooling only rooms that will be occupied. Since zone heating and cooling controls have proven very successful in commercial buildings, MountainLogic has extended this concept to retrofitting homes with a payback of about two years.
Scott was introduced to E2 at the
Northwest chapter's inaugural EcoSalon with Senator Maria Cantwell as speaker and soon became a member. Scott has been active in the chapter's advocacy efforts ever since.
"I was drawn to E2 due to its affiliation with NRDC, an effective leader on environmental issues. I often find NRDC's staff engineers and scientists representing the environment at technical and policy meetings. These are those long and unglamorous standards meetings where the real decisions are made. NRDC is often the sole voice present for the environment. I've seen how effective these relentless heroes are in transforming policy and businesses for the environment. With E2, I have the pleasure of accessing the policy teams of NRDC and E2 through webinars. These groups are clearly the leaders of environmental policy. They have provided me with an understanding of environmental issues far ahead of other sources. The depth, sophistication and timing of information in these briefings are far ahead of what is available in the media. Because of these resources, E2 is able to be a powerful and influential policy player with a small membership."
