WHAT CLEAN ENERGY JOBS? THESE CLEAN ENERGY JOBS!

Florida-based American Energy Innovations is a great example of why supporting clean energy jobs is important for our economy.  Based in Martin County, Fla. the company is an affiliate of American Custom Yachts. When the boat building business slowed with the economy, the company decided to move into a growing business –manufacturing wind and water turbine blades.

As you’ll see from this week’s tally of clean energy jobs around the country, American Energy Innovations just began hiring for 600 new jobs that will each pay $43,000 per year.

What allowed this truly American (in both name and location) company to expand was $4 million in government grants and incentives, which were announced with great fanfare earlier this year by Republican Gov. Rick Scott – who called it his biggest job announcement.

Also on hand to cheer the announcement was GOP Rep. Tom Rooney, who represents the region in Congress.

Read below for more of this week’s clean energy job announcements, featuring 14 other announcements from over a dozen states.
