E2 Advocacy Projects: New York Clean Cars Campaign

In 2003, E2 launched the New York Clean Cars Campaign with the goal of adopting legislation similar to California's Clean Cars Bill (AB 1493), which calls for a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in passenger vehicles and light trucks. NRDC and E2 were instrumental in getting clean car bills introduced in the New York State Assembly and Senate. New York finally adopted the Clean Car standards in November 2005.
