![]() Clean Energy and Climate Policies Lead to Economic Growth in the United StatesNew analysis shows that adopting comprehensive clean energy and climate legislation could create up to 1.9 million jobsNew economic analysis shows that clean energy and climate policies would create jobs, increase consumers’ income, and strengthen the U.S. economy as a whole. Based on collaborate research by the University of Illinois, Yale University and the University of California, the new study clearly demonstrates that comprehensive clean energy and climate legislation, such as the American Clean Energy and Security Act and the Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act, would limit pollution and create incentives to drive large-scale investments in clean energy and energy efficiency. The analysis indicates that, on a national level, such legislation would create up to 1.9 million new jobs, increase annual household income by up to $1,175 per year, and boost GDP by up to $111 billion – with all of those benefits measured relative to a scenario without such legislation. In addition, all the states would see economic gains are over and above the growth that they would see in the absence of such a bill. Environmental Entrepreneurs, along with the national investor coalition Ceres and the Clean Economy Network, have sponsored the publication of the following 50 state fact sheets that clearly illustrate the study’s findings about how each state will be impacted if we pass strong clean energy and climate policies to secure a safer and cleaner future for our country.
