E2 would like to welcome new NY Chapter Director, Ron Gonen. Ron is the Co-Founder and former CEO (2004-2010) of RecycleBank, a service that rewards people for their positive green actions and has diverted over a billion pounds from landfills through contracts with over 200 cities. Ron and RecycleBank were recognized by a number of leading business and environmental organizations including: the World Economic Forum, the United Nations Environment Program, the U.S. Conference of Mayors, and the Wall Street Journal. His original seed investors sold a portion of their equity in 2010 and realized an over 5x return on their original investment. Ron is currently a member of RecycleBank's Board of Directors. Prior to RecycleBank, Ron was at Deloitte Consulting.

Ron is also the lead investor in Linhardt Design Studio and serves on the Board of Advisors of Source4Style, DailyFeats and JobRooster. He is on the Board of Trustees of RARE Conversation, an organization that applies community-based solutions to global conservation challenges.

Ron is a past member of the World Economic Forum's Council on Sustainable Consumption and is currently a member of the Steering Committee for the New York Product Stewardship Council, a Henry Catto Fellow at the Aspen Institute and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. In 2011, Ron joined the faculty at Columbia Business School, where he received his MBA, as an Adjunct Professor teaching a course on social entrepreneurship.

Ron’s insight in sustainability issues make him a valuable asset to have on the E2 team. We are lucky and excited to have his leadership in New York!
