SAN FRANCISCO (August 6, 2019) – Today, E2 and the Clean Energy Leadership Institute (CELI) announced a new partnership designed to help develop the next generation of clean energy industry leaders and amplify their business voices for policies that are good for the economy and the environment.
Through the partnership, E2 and CELI will collaborate on a broad range of current and planned programming, including:
- Collaborating on training programs for CELI Fellows on how to engage in effective policy advocacy from a business perspective;
- Supporting CELI’s expansion and addition of new fellowship programs in future cities;
- Offering new opportunities for CELI alumni to engage in E2’s advocacy work, its educational offerings, and chapter events.
Also, through the partnership, CELI alumni can join E2’s Emerging Leaders program at discounted membership rates. The E2 Emerging Leaders program provides opportunities for early and mid-career business leaders to engage in E2’s advocacy, communications, networking, and mentorship programs.
CELI and E2 also are partnering with the Atlantic Council for the upcoming Veterans Advanced Energy Summit. The event, which will be held in Chicago on August 13, features numerous E2 and CELI speakers.
“Integrating E2’s advocacy expertise and opportunities into our programming helps create yet another way for our Fellows and alumni to advance our growing clean energy economy,” CELI Executive Director Liz Ramsay Dalton said. “Being connected with E2’s national network of seasoned business leaders, investors and other professionals will ensure our community’s continued professional development and growing impact.”
Gail Parson, E2’s director of member and state engagement, said:
“Young people – and especially young business people – are key to advancing action on clean energy and climate change. By working with CELI, we are helping to build the next generation of business leaders who are well-equipped to carry the banner for smart environmental policies that are also good for the economy.”
The partnership with CELI is the latest of a number of recent E2 initiatives designed to help young business leaders get more engaged with shaping smart climate and clean energy policies for a better world.
In addition to the E2 Emerging Leaders program, E2 is now accepting applications for the third year of its E2 1Hotels Fellowship program, which awards early and mid-career business people with $20,000 grants another support to pursue projects at the intersection of the environment and the economy.
